This part with the creepy music was kino, I also think Galactic was one of the best teams, also the goal of creating their own world was the most interesting, except for the no emotions part

DPPt is definitely up there with Cyrus and his cult, but I'd say XY is the darkest games in the series.
>The triggering event of the story involves a king going insane and succesfully killing countless people and pokemon for his selfish desires
>The object of his desires ends up horrified at his actions and leaves him, making all those deaths and effort nearly pointless
>Turns out he's cursed with immortality on top of that

And let's not forget the postgame, where we join a homeless teenager that puts herself through human experimentation, both because she sees herself as useless and to earn some money to help her new friends.

I love how there's such a stark contrast in attitude between the Grunts, the Commanders and Cyrus. Almost all of the Grunts are unaware of Cyrus' master plan and are following him for either just for shits and giggles or for the money. The commander's are either obsessed or admire Cyrus and his plan Cyrus himself on the other hand, doesn't give a shit about anyone. He actively manipulates his entire team.
It's not only funny to see the difference, but also slightly scary when you consider the extent Cyrus was willing to go to achieve his goal.

Actually in Diamond and Pearl the Lake teio stop him and in Platinum he is stopped by Giratina, if they didn't interrupt him the player maybe would have lost

The lake trio stopped Dialga/Palkia, not necessarily Cyrus himself, it was you beating him afterwards that made him fuck off. But yeah in Platinum Giratina fucked everything up for Cyrus.

Lysandre pins the world's woes on "unproductive fools", which is why anyone with enough dosh can get into Team Flare. I actually kind of like this about Team Flare, it feels realistic. They're pretty much the first team with grunts that have an actual reason to be there.

To this day Team Galactic is the only team which is an actual threat and no wonder it was with Team Galatic that the International Police became a stable of the series.

They literally bombed sinnoh twice, had a really spooky hive minded cult, little to no care about anything and in Platinum they summon literally satan to this plane, using the bodies of 3 legendary pokemon as vessels to cross the breach.

Also the fact that they had visible big buildings with the logo and grunts in major cities, people just accepted Team Galactic was a thing and didn't even fight back. We can only imagine how much power they had before the downfall, both political and social.

No, they all knew. Some even gloat about it to your face. This has a lot to do with why Lysandre is one of the worst villains despite being one of the most evil, he talks about selfish, lazy people ruining the beauty of the world but his team is full of exactly those selfish, lazy people. The game tries to make him tragic, but he comes across as insane. Not to mention that the goofiness of Flare combined with the over-the-top nature of the UW also doesn't mesh well with how grim and deadly Flare's plan was, so the whole story had a sharp dissonance going on.

Most of the evil teams in Pokémon are pretty bad. At least Skull knows how silly they are and capitalizes on that fact.

Cyrus isn't quite like Lysandre or Archie/Maxie. His plan seems stupid to you, but the game does a good job at showing that he doesn't rationalize like you do, that his thoughts are pretty far from what we consider typical and common sense. To Cyrus, emotions are indeed unnessecary burdens in life, an idea stemming from childhood abuse. In an attempt to fix the problem of emotions, he goes to the logical extreme, which includes taking the world with him. From a story perspective, it does make sense.
