Why does Smogon ban OHKO moves?
We min/max our Pokemon's IVs and EVs so that our damage outputs more often than not result in a OHKO anyway (with far greater accuracy than Fissure, too), so in what way are these moves a threat?
They're less reliable than just using a powerful attack, so they're not ideal choices at all, but if Smogon's goal is to find a tier that every Pokemon can excel at, then why not allow them? Trashmons like Articuno are easily countered, but they'd see far more use if Sheer Cold was considered a viable strategy.
