The reasons for being walled out of places in Gen 1 are so much better than Gen 7

>Can't get to Rock Tunnel because of overgrowth you need to cut down
>Can't get to Saffron because the cops have shut down the roads
>Can't get to Fuscia because a wild Pokemon decided to take a nap in the middle of the road leading there

which is far better than
