I am so excited to see all of these horrible pokemon from 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 get retconned out of existence forever with the reboot. It will be a perfect resurrection for the franchise.

They're not going to reboot the whole franchise retard. When people say reboot they just mean reimagining Red and Blue/Green (redesigning locations, writing a new story, etc).

I know you're baiting, but I would be really happy about a reboot that only keeps the most iconic pokemon.
80% of the dex is useless trash that brings nothing interesting to the table. Don't pretend something like pic related would be missed by anyone if it were removed.

With the exception of gen 1 starters (all of whom should stay), I think they need to purge all but the most iconic starters of each gen. For example.
Meganium and Typhlosion lines should be purged.
Swampert and Sceptile lines should be purged.
Torterra and Infernape lines should be purged.
Samurott and Emboar lines should be purged.
Chesnaught and Delphox lines should be purged.
Primarina and Incineroar lines should be purged.
This would leave us with less irrelevant pokemon to worry about, letting us give the iconic starter lines the proper attention they deserve.

I would only accept this if they removed everything from Gen 1 and 2 as well.

There's nothing superior about the originals apart from the fact they came first and people have blind nostalgia towards them.

Either start completely from scratch or don't remove anything. There is no middle ground

If Unova was the first Gen, then you would be sucking Klinks and Vanillites dicks whilst spitting on the Kanto Pokemon if they were a newer generation.

Kanto has the blandest Dex of all and no amount of nostalgia will fix that, even if some of them are very good designs (as is the case with every region, they all have good and bad designs)

Even if they do reboot the franchise and only include the original 151 or a selection of ~200 or so for the first games, they won't retcon any Pokemon out of existence. They're far more likely to just drip feed them back into the series as the rebooted series continues. One thing that Game Freak does right is that they know that every Pokemon is somebody's favourite.
