That is actually BETTER than his GBA team; poor Sharpedo's NEVER had a water move. Movepool creep did make ORAS easier, but a couple of choke points and the Elite 4 aside they were always easygoing games.

Nope. They literally just took the last four moves from the Pokemon's learnset. It's EXACTLY as bad as Red/Blue. Even Pokemon Yellow wasn't this retarded.

The problem is that Game Freak doesn't really buff until the very end of the game, or least they used to. Yellow and FRLG's Elite 4's have good enough moves to make their Pokemon function, and Clair basically makes the point herself. But the Giovanni rematch in Silph Co., or last Rocket admin fight? Same as what we see here, despite Giovanni's throwing Thunders and Earthquakes an hour later. Shouldn't have been, not like assigning a few attacks on one more trainer is work at all, but I think few are truly surprised at this point.

I didn’t realized this before, due to being able to steamroll by the time e4 rematches came around, but Koga’s muk doesn’t have a single attacking move in his rematch. Kinda sad considering it almost always came out as his last mon for me.

Pre Gen 4 movesets were pretty garbage overall. The whole point of a remake is to update the game to the current gen standards. And that includes moveset standards.

Fuck you I've been dreaming about the day Ruby and Sapphire would be remade ever since I was playing Fire Red and Leaf Green. I bought a 3DSXL for the express purpose of playing my decade-long fantasy. Yes, I did go to Gamestop's midnight release and, yes, I did get both versions. Starting the game at 11:45 PM the day before the official release was one of the greatest moments of my life, especially when it started off with a nearly IDENTICAL intro to the original, spritework and all.
Frankly, I didn't even leave the parking lot that whole night because I didn't want to stop playing to drive home.

Archie had the same problem as the original: He comes before the last gym leader who uses Water Pokemon. I guess that they didn't want the villains and heroes using the same pokemon, so Archie got stuck with poison and dark types. Of course, they could give him a Hauntail, or a Relicanth, or Gyarados as his signature Pokemon to compensate.

Same shit with Team Magma.
I'll be forever mad especially at the fact that they didn't give Team Aqua Mashop and Team Magma Abra since they both exist in the Hoenn dex and perfectly fit each team's main characteristics, Aqua being a bunch of rowdy pirates and Magma being a weird science cult.

well yes, obviously, but his BW team was the champion team for that gen which is why I didn't include him
and while it may be a physical hydreigon, it also has life orb making it actually hit harder than the itemless special variant, even if his moveset is worse

that's a pretty big problem considering steel is the best type in the game. B/W Hydreigon was more threatening because type coverage meant it had no real switch-ins.
I do like the idea behind giving Hydreigon frustration however. Nicely highlights that Ghetsis is an abusive piece of shit.

Which is why Magnezone took care of Ghetsis (as well as 90% of the rest of the game, for me)

Meanwhile, in BW, Ghetsis's Hydyreigon outspeeds and one-shots my entire team. It was only a missed Focus Blast on a Scrafty that allowed me to use HJK to finally take the fucker down. I know I spent two Max Revives that fight and I don't remember how many normal ones.
