>>35505380When you take it literally, no. But good players can analyze what options would be best for the opponent to take and think ahead a turn or more. A good player would switch out their pokemon, and switch into this pokemon, therefore I don't want to get locked into X move, even though it would be more effective to use Y move if the opponent stayed in, so I'm going to use X move, then if that kills the switched in pokemon, I should be safe, etc.
Once you can make those logical steps, you can narrow down the likely choices of the metagame meaning you have less choices to predict or you can make smarter predictions.
