Because that was back when GF actually cared about putting their best effort. That's not to say that they didn't mistakes, but at least they still tried. They cared about giving the fans their most honest effort, compare that to now, where they do whatever is easy and takes less effort and time.

SM/USUM doesn't even have proper lighting for characters.
Even XY got that shit right, try taking a photo on the breeding route in midday. Your trainer darkens when clouds cover them.

It's nothing even close to what DPPt had. Even on a system with more limitations, they were able to create an actually good and realistic day/night system in Gen4. While now, with so much possibilities and lesser restrictions, they do nothing.

They call it so because that's how Diamond and Pearl are pronounced in Japanese. (ダイヤモンド Daiyamondo /パール Paru).
The same does not apply for english, however.

Gen IV was the peak of the Pokémon franchise.

I just remembered how they removed the entire flash puzzle in Dewford Cave and Steven's Room was right at the entrance connected by a straightforward path.
So i can only imagine something similar, but even worse happening for Sinnoh, considering it's extensive dungeon designs.

Remember that the Azure Flute and the lack thereof is the start of GF thinking players are too dumb for paths that aren't a straight line. Expect to teleport to the top of Mount Coronet in the remakes, and everyone lapping it up for it because no HMs.
