The term "bug" has been colloquialized to me "any small invertibrate." If we were to define "bug" using a biological definition, we would only have 3 Bug types, with those being Nincada, Ninjask, and Shedinja, as they are, as far as I'm a aware, the only bug types to be based on Hemiptera, or true bugs.

Unless you're talking about true bugs, or hemiptera. Like treehoppers and cicadas.
Any small creepy crawly is a "bug" including snails and slugs
