As a kid i always got Pikachu as my main character unless i deliberately went out of my way to change my answers. My Partner was always a Mudkip or a Squirtle. Not sure i have a favorite, but if i was able to create a pic related rescue team in a future game if its actually good it would be this

Bulbasaur+Charmander. They work together well and I really like first stages of first gen starters.
Recently, I've tried Turtwig+Shinx. Shinx is a cool partner thanks to its expressive face but I still prefer my first duo.

Atm I'm playing with a cheated Snorunt partner but if we're talking strictly vanilla then I myself like Pikachu & Eevee just because of how generic it is. I'm a pretty basic person. Favorite Pokemon is Raichu.

Gen 7 is just as "short" as gen 5 and 6.
Gates to Infinity is the way it is because they had to make a new engine for it. They've used the previous engine for 10 years. They're not making a new one for the Switch, they're going to reuse the 3DS one.
