There's even data for it in the Gen 7 games (it's the last unused game ID/symbol in S/M/US/UM), they've just wasted an assload of time trying to catch cheaters so it hasn't happened yet.
B.) Why would that be a reason to quit? As long as they aren't locking things to require it (which I doubt they would since we're talking about Game Freak), who gives a fuck if shitty mobile games can transfer to the main series?
