Unlike Carrot Dog, Zoroark wasn't featured prominently in the anime as one of Ash's Ace Pokemon.
Zoroark also didn't act like a cute oversized dog for comedic effect while having a retard rage switch caused by the mere act of getting dirty, which could also be considered for comedic effect.
