That map is wrong. Sinnoh and Johto are connected at the north.

We know they're north of Johto and naming convention (Tohjo Falls) indicates that it's connected to Sinnoh.

The maps indicates that the Sinjoh ruins are at the north. Also, the Red Gyarados from the lake at the north of Johto was sighted at the lake in the player's home town, which is at the south of Sinnoh.

Also, the Tohjo Falls are the only other spot in the entire franchise with that naming scheme, and it's in between Kanto and Johto, so it's assumed (and implied) that the Sinjoh Ruins are between Sinnoh and Johto.

Venezuela. For those who aren't familiar with it, it has a lot of geographical quirks:

>deserts
>a vast coastline
>plains with cowboys

A Grass bear. It's last stage is Grass/Ghost, since it is extinct.
A Water Capybara. It's last stage is Water/Ground.
A Fire Ocelot. It's last stage is Fire/Ground.

The generic bird must be a macaw. With different colors available.
A harpy eagle must be available. Flying/Fighting.
A Flying/Fairy troupial.
A Water-type amazon river dolphin.

Actually there are many species only found there. Which could make for interesting Pokémon.

My ideal region would be based on Canada.

Starters.

Grass/Ice Arctic Hare

Fire/Poison Musk Ox.

Water/Ground Muskrat

Region based on the Great Horseshoe (Toronto and Niagra Falls)

Gyms are Dark, Grass, Fire, Water, Ice, Flying, Ground and Electric.

Ice gets a buff.

More region forms and Megas.

110 new Pokémon and 40 new Region Forms/Megas

Region dex would be 250 in the first game, sequel would have 400.

Ground/Flying Pig Pokemon
Rock/Ghost Inushuk
Fire/Psychic Cirque De Solei clown acrobat
Water/Steel Swordfish

There was never any Gyarados in Sinnoh
The player and his dumb blond friend were watwhing the news about the one in Jihto and the friend went "Hey maybe there's one in our lake too, let's check out"

Wrong.

You can find many Gyarados through fishing in Diamond, Peal, and Platinum — including shinies if you're lucky enough.

All it takes is a simple Bulbapedia search to prove you wrong, buddy.

Northern and Central California

Grass: Banana Slug Grass/Bug with a stuck on leaf hat to giraffe-patterned Grass/Dragon with multliple translucent limbs of slime, very tanky. Referred to as protectors of redwood rainforests.

Fire: Fire/Poison rattlesnake with a chicken's comb into same typed hind-legged and winged basilisk-rattlesnake, surprisingly small for a fully evolved starter. Folks in warmer areas live in constant vigilance during times when they aren't hibernating.

Water: A baby bear who's pure water type. Mid stage gains a fishbone sword, stands on hind legs. Final stage is a grizzly bear wearing literal scale armor, has a much larger fishbone broadsword worn on the back, and becomes Water/Fighting.

Well a major one is have an ice gym earlier on.
