You can't get Mewtwo until postgame, and you have to go through the same part of Winding Woods to reach it that you already traveled in the main game.
It's only a retread of an area you've already cleared of Trainers, items, et cetera, so it's just a casual stroll with some wild Pokémon, if that.
Winding Woods is a dungeon, sure, but getting Mewtwo is long past the point that it's of any relevance.
