What was everyone here's first Pokemon game?

I'm 18 and I didn't really start playing until I was 11 so Black 2 and White 2 were my firsts. I was curious if there are any REALLY old people here who started during gen 2 or even gen 1?

my first was leaf green since i didn't have a video game system until the gba when i was 9.
But i do remember watching the original anime when it was still coming out and me and my sister both had a starter deck of the tgc that came with that cd with the nightmare fuel animation.

I'm 21 going on 22 and Pokemon Blue was my first. Gameboys were allegedly a very good way to get your autistic toddler to stop screeching

18, first game was Pokemon Yellow I got at a Gamestop in 2007. I remember all the kids at school were talking about Diamond and Pearl and there I was, playing this old ass game. Though I didn't mind all that much since Yellow is extremely comfy.

24. Started watching the OG anime as it released, as most kids at the time. But can't really remember which game was the first, probably one of R/B/Y, then either G/S. Doesn't really matter because i was too young to understand anything, and didn't even speak english at the time.

started with Gen 2 at a time when everyone else moved on to Gen 3. older brother wouldn't let me touch the GBA so i was stuck with Gold from 2004 - 2008. played Red afterwards to milk my GBC before moving on to HG/SS

Agreed man. Just from 2000 to 2010 was insane. The world became completely different in just 10 years. I kind of miss the pre-internet days. More conveniences now sure, but it has kind of taken the exploration/mystery out of a bunch of stuff. The world is very very tiny now.

Red was my first game and Pokemania was awesome. The first week of Pokemon Go was probably about 5% of what the late 90's craze was. I feel sorry for the younger people on here, I wish you could have had the chance to experience it.

I'm 22 now, and my first game was also BW2. I think I got it when I was 17 or 18. I honestly don't know why I started with BW2 instead of BW, but I've since gone back and played BW to fill in the gap.

And, I mean, I started playing during Gen 2 but almost did during Gen 1 since I wanted to buy a copy of Yellow I saw on the shelves of Electronic Boutique back when the game was new, along with a Gameboy.

30yo here, can remember a time before Pokemon was even a thing. Had a friend and his sister happened to be really into anime, she got us both into the show and then the game. I got Blue, friend got Red. All we'd do was play Pokemon, day in day out. Got all the cards, toys, everything that came out. Sadly Gen 2 hit and I was the only one still interested. Guess it was just a fad to him...

I'm 24, started with Pokemon Blue admittedly I think it has been out for a year or so before I got it. I was little and Victory Road was too complex a puzzle so the first game I beat from the series was actually Silver.
