'' The Return to Kanto ''

- It is set in an Micro-Open MMOJRPG setting with online and offline play (limited to certain areas, zones, and personal creations)

- E3 will not be the first release, a short Pokémon Direct will follow two days prior to the Nintendo E3 with the reveal, but more in-depth information to be shown at the end of the premiere at E3

- Treehouse will have a playable demo

- Will be a Switch & 3DS launch title

- Red & Blue will have different stories. One being in the future of Kanto, and one being the past of Kanto. Both with very different Pokémon to capture, experience, and even a different storyline.

- Gyms will return for one of the versions.

- Old cast will not make an appearance prior to 100 years (for obvious reasons) but will be mentioned throughout the player's journey. The prior version will not reference them at all except by vague psychic predictions.

- Although both will be needed to get the full story neither have exclusives such as a Battle Tower while the other does not. Only exclusions is the story line, Pokémon encountered, and different post game challenges.

- Trials will also be in the game, along with a new way to encounter battling.

- HM's have been replaced completely, new mechanics for Pokémon relations depend on the prior and latter edition

- Shining Aura Power will be the new gimmick this year.

- Both starter trio's will be different for each version depending on the prior or latter edition.

- Bank will be accessible, new Pokémon forms from older Pokémon will make an appearance, new Pokémon will be limited, new baby forms and mid forms will be introduced, new evolutions to old friends will be encounterable and accessible, Mega evolutions do exist, Time warp will play a role

- Multiverse returns

- Battle Arena re-vamp, expect Trainer battles to be more dynamic

- Pokémon Go and the Switch Title will have a connection, more to be announced at E3
