It’s true, there’s a lot of similarity between gen5 mons gen1 Mona but I liked that. I thought it was gen 1 pandering done healthily. These games were pretty fresh though. I liked the region a lot, the massive amount of new Pokémon was amazing and I took it for granted. No gimmick like Megas or Z moves, just Pokémon. A (somewhat) serious plot that felt more akin to JRPGs, interesting, colorful designs (however I feel the bright colors such as scolipede and galvantula were their undoing as they transitioned to the 3DS era rather plainly). BW2 was even more of an improvement. The first “true” sequel that expanded on an already fun game. BW2 had so many features it’s the only Pokémon game that I’ve never finished completely. Honestly I feel like I took BW2 for granted, as soon as XY was revealed I kinda turned it away.
