the desire to appeal to veteran players is still there, otherwise we wouldn't have had updates in the breeding mechanics and the battle tree, despite the latter being as basic as the battle tower clones before it
also, remember, this is 4chan. not everything leakers say is going to be right, and even if they are, they could always be articulating it differently to how it actually is
