Considering most of the leaks say this is just a new game set in Kanto and not a remake, there's no doubt in my mind that Lillie is gonna be champion.

It's very fucking simple. This is not the end of the franchise, just a big delay. Marketing in a long term strategy and they need to be able to offer something new in every subsequent game for the Switch. If they gave us Gen 8 right away, what would convince people to buy Switch Pokemon games for the next 5 or 6 years? They're going to release a dumbed down game with barely any content this year. Then in a few years, a new gen with a full 900 Pokemon will be marketing gold.

At WORST, it'll be an optional bonus, like a ball-throwing minigame to increase catch rate, pseudo-O-Powers at stops, or Pokewalker 2: Electric-type Boogaloo.
They have a formula that works extremely well, and they'd be fools to drastically change it.

No, mewtwo is part of the main game since TR wants him for something. Epsiode birds after credits. Lillie still pacifies mewtwo in the maingame. Also
