This is a very rare post from me that is mostly being taken from my duplicate post over on Reddit, my own site's Discord & IRC chat...
I have every reason to believe, at this moment, that neither of the two game's leaked are spin-offs. I've been talking about this on my Twitter and other feeds.
This is not a Generation 7/8 or 7.5. This is a ret-con to the franchise by going mostly in the original direction that the first Generation games (Green, Red, Blue, Yellow) were supposed to go in.
We'll see what happens from here but I wouldn't be too optimistic about anything outside of a Kanto specific region. New additions are inevitable but I don't know if we can call them new if what is added was originally supposed to be a part of the game.
