people who call it edgy keep reposting and spreading pages without context. You may have seen the Arbok cut in half, that's actually it's quirk. Arbok can stay alive as long as the head it's damaged and Koga uses that trick in Yellow to defeat it's enemy. The Arbok is still alive by HGSS chapter.
No one has truly died in PokeSpe.

The Arbok thing isn't the only reason people call it edgy. I've read some of it, and it tries to be unnecessarily dark and "cool" just for the sake of it. It takes itself way too seriously.

I enjoy it but the edgy comments do have some truth to them. Characters are constantly under threat of death and the battles with bad guys and even good guys tend to be vicious. It's never extreme but it's far more than any other Pokemon media. It's more similar to fan made Nuzlocke comics. There are other issues though like most of the Pokemon having no personality. It's enjoyable but you will wish there would be more time spent on character development.
