That being said, the Orange Islands just had traditional gyms (complete with battles on all of them but the one you named) with wacky mini games at the start for most of them (like a water shooting game). The sea shells were also just literally badges you had to collect to challenge their champion. It really wasn't Alola.
And if Red and Blue are in these new games, like the leaks keep saying, Orange Islands makes even less sense. The Sevii Islands should be the canon ones in then.
And lets be real here, the Sevii Islands in a remake would be just fine to be retrofit into Alola themed islands.
