If GF is so lazy that they fully revamp the FRLG map instead of re-imagining Kanto, you can't expect them to invent the parts that didn't exist in the original games like they would need to if there was a free cam (like looking right or left on that pic >>35576329 )

Pokemon on it's own sells millions. But you know what else sells: ratings and reviews from well known critics. GameFreak will HAVE to make this a good game so they don't get dogged down.

I agree that XY were a couple of dickass games, but what was praised was its "transition into 3D graphics, enhanced visuals and online play' " (wikipedia). If this new game is exactly like what we've seen in that image, they will, without doubt, score poorly.
