Yep. I've been doing this for all the mainline games and I've beaten FRLG, HGSS, and ORAS previously as well. I got the idea in my head becuase I wanted to spice up the playthroughs I've been doing (and it's giving me plenty of opportunity of using Mons I wouldn't otherwise use). I've also been doing it without using items in battle, because even if you use Pokemon like Ledian and Farfetch'd, anyone can just PP stall with Hyper Potions to wear down the enemy.

Cyrus stonewalled me for the hardest time, to the point where I actually had to raise my HM Slave Bibarel just to beat him. I also couldn't flatout beat Cynthia so I had to revamp my team a bit. I had many others throughout the journey like Kricketune and Wormadam but I try not to overlap too many Pokemon types in a playthrough when I near the end. A load of fun, but easily the most challenging of the games I completed atm.

Based team. I (kind of) share your ethos in trying to utilize “weaker” mons. Leads to some fucking great moments too.

Here’s my Ultra Moon team. About to catch Necrozma. I feel like they’re overleveled from me hunting legends in wormholes with EXP share on.
Was able to somehow beat Ultra Necrozma without itemspam, was my favorite fight in any Pokemon game easily. Shiinotic is surpisingly a massive carry - solo’d Hapu, instrumental in Gladion, instrumental in Ultra Necrozma, just an overall monster in the best way. I could blog at length about each member. Love this team.

one of the last 2 slots will be for Dragonite and idk what the other will be. Primeape kind of sucks because the best moves for him are at level 50+ or only exist as post-game TMs, and I'm not sure how to use Forretress in casual play since Rapid Spin is useless, and he learns no good physical bug STABs
