>>35592522Most people in the west don't know about the concept of anime for kids and anime for adults, they just mix everything together, even in japan adults don't take things like Pokemon, Naruto, etc totally seriously after certain age, they grow out of it and eventually start to consume other things like seinen manga, books, light novels, visual novels, etc. They see Pokemon like we see Tom & Jerry or something along these lines, you still can watch it after certain age (most common way is that they pass the torch from a lot of ongoing franchises that they grew up with to their children, they consume this media together with their kids because the familiarity makes for a good bonding), but don't go complaining that it's not ascended art, it never was supposed to be, and there's nothing wrong with that.
