>>35596100As a genwunner, let me tell you how pathetic you are.
Generation 1 was, and still is the best generation. No one can dispute that, yet what gamefreak is doing is the epitome of laziness. Pandering to a group of old people that can't move on is the way to stagnate a franchise creatively. And it'll always be worse. No matter how much pandering they do, they'll never recapture the feeling of Gen 1 games, and they'll never even attempt anything that could surpass it because genwunners still give their money for a mediocre product as long as it appeals to nostalgia. This is something that's not just going on with Pokemon. Look at films using the same formula with all of capeshit, look at Star Wars, which is just ANH with a girl MC; look at Dragon Ball, which is just another meaningless tournament. The basedboy meme actually represents this generation that doesn't want to move on, that doesn't want change but to relive their childhood. This is definitely a symptom of a bigger problem, of a generation that never moved on, that never grew, that is always reaching out for a childhood that is no longer there and will never be there again. In the process, we're also shitting on any nugenner who is also waiting for something new and innovative.
Gamefreak will now release another product, pandering again to the 20 year old fags that couldn't move on, avoiding any creativity, cutting costs on the development, and releasing a mediocre product, and it'll sell. Not because the games are good, but because it caters to people with shitty lives longing to recapture the sense of wonder they felt when they were kids. I find it more sad than funny.
