To be fair, as a kid I was stuck in silph co forever because I couldn't navigate the teleportation circles. At one point, you teleport and move down, but I always moved up and never ever got passed that level. So what did I do? I would restart the game because I was a dumb kid. I think kids sometimes need handholding lol

I tried an experiment and even if you know what you're doing, it takes about 290 steps to reach the Surf guy. You will take about 12 more steps for the warden's teeth so you can get Strength from him. That leaves you with less than 200 steps left in the best possible scenario.

Even kid me could figure out that if you go left and right in place by lightly pressing the D-pad that it wouldn't consume steps but still provide encounters. Infinite time in the Safari Zone. Kids have no excuse.
