Like, get a fucking grip, you don't have to be fluent in Japanese to see ピカチュウ doesn't resemble マリル in any fucking way. A friend of mine was determined that this advert was proof of it being Marill's name, I bet he felt a dumb motherfucker when Season 2 of the anime aired.
