Nerfing the A-attack to 5 damage maximum makes it basically useless. In the previous games, it's a trade-off between PP and damage, but in Super it's basically only good for trap-checking and finishing off Pokemon with Sturdy. It discourages learning non-attacking moves, because you need attack PP to hit for more than 5 damage.
Missions are entirely gone, and the recruitment encounters are hardly a replacement. They're just boring, and most of the time the reward is a Pokemon you'll never use.
The break system actually discourages you from using other Pokemon. Why bother powering up a Pokemon that could become unaccessible at any time, when you could pour everything into the two main characters instead?
I like wands and emeras, but their effects are too extreme. The absurd power of many main-game enemies could be scaled back if wands and emeras were toned down, too.
