We're angry because we assume that's not what we're getting. It's the endless incompetence of GameFreak so if it's a Yellow remake we won't get Sevii Islands, we won't get new interesting regional forms, and we won't get Johto post-game since none of those were in Yellow.
Then on top of that we have Go integration and inspiration for changed mechanics which could only serve to further casualize the game as Go is a casualize piece of shit. We also believe that damn Lapras image so we don't think GF has really given a fuck about updating the graphics to fully take advantage of the hardware. All in all it just feels like it's going to be a disappointment.

What consensus? Back then plenty of people thought a Kanto return was a bad idea and plenty of people on this board today are excited about the potential of the Switch games. As far as I'm concerned nothing has changed.

I wanted a return to Kanto as a 3DS game, 7 Generation game, instead of USUM
When we are talking about a Switch game, 8 Generation game, an entirely new game, I want it to be a new region
I want it to have new Pokemon

Give us something new NOW, and the next games can be a return to Kanto for all I care

Why do people repeat this shit? There was nothing rushed in Sun and Moon. Pokemon is 10 times more successful than star wars, they have all the means. if they wanted to, they'd just hire more people do create more stuff. They are just lazy, because everyone will buy their shit anyway.

perhaps the only thing we all agree on is the fear of game freak crapping all over this game, like they've been doing since OR/AS, and making just a 3D FRLG map, like such Hoenn remakes, and, while the idea of "reimagining Kanto" is interesting, we all know masuda would rather eat his own shit and drop dead than making another region for a post-game, or an open world, non-linear gameplay because "kids are too retarded to understand". At the same time we know Nintendo Switch can handle two huge open world regions, we just don't trust gf anymore, so it's easier to expect the games to be shit and have a lower disappointment when it releases
