This is one of the very few areas in Sinnoh that I really liked.
The restaurant that had all the trainers and the guard who would allow you to rest were pretty nice but I hate how a good chunk of it isn't accessible without Rock Climb.

Literally the only thing I don't like about Gen 4 was that the starters were kind of lackluster. It also started the Fire/Fighting duel typing for the fire starter that lasted like 3 generations.

Yes. All the content packed into Sinnoh made it one of the greatest pokemon games. The games aren't walks in the park, the elite four can be actually challenging, the areas are different and there are secret little things everywhere, its all so great.

Reflection Cave. I think that caves in Gen 6+ may be less of dungeons which I find cool (some people dont like it but each to their own) and Reflection Cave is absolutely gorgeous and I could spend long minutes here...

Man I don't wanna be a contrarian but I really don't get why people say this game is ugly. It's so vibrant and colorful, XY looked way more drab. The beauty of nature was much more prevalent imo. I didn't even mind how square everything was, it was still pretty as hell.

Except the bridge itself, I find it ugly, very ugly surroundings, fences on river, awful folk Japanese music made of screeches and painful moans.
Unova bridges are a curse but are there to stay because of "union" theme and references.

I don't like Unova but some places are definitely worthy of being mentioned and praised, Gen 5 had many cons but the few props it had were top tier either be some location or battle team or music theme, kabuki Lostlorn Forest was comfier in my opinion, also Virbank's music. Pinwheel Forest and Route 23 aren't bad either.
Also if anyone else can agree I'd also like to mention the inside of the Hidden Grotto, very cozy place and soothing silence with natural sounds reminding of those nature sound effects from HGSS, ASMR feels.

I love Castelia City.
I've always wanted to live in a big city (grew up in a quiet suburb.) And Castelia captures that feeling. I like it better than Luminose, and while Luminose has a bit more stuff to do in it, Castelia really captures the bustling and hurrying nature of large cities. I love going inside each little building. I just wish there was more to see and do.

Really surprised this wasn’t posted yet. Every time I get to this point in a Platinum playthrough, I sit there for a while and just reminisce about the journey. The music gets me pretty damn close to tearing up each time.

I've always had the opinion that R/S/E had the best soundtracks in the series, but they just suffered from a wonky soundfont. I was happy that with the remakes people would finally realize how good the music actually is. Granted, some remixes are slightly underwhelming, but I think most of them were pretty spot on.

iirc HGSS and BW/BW2 (maybe some cities in XY too) at least tried to color some roofs according to the city architecture or colors
