The 'hair' on either side of its head looks more like a set of fins akin to the one on Croconaw/Feraligatr's head, and the bulging eyes remind me of my first impression of Totodile when it was first revealed (I didn't realize it had black markings around its eyes, and assumed its eyeballs were bulging out of its eyesockets).The name itself is also a dead giveaway that it's a crocodile pokemon, not a dragon/lizard. >>35620238 say about what the marking next to it turns out to be true (that the triangle means a design that wasn't outright rejected, but in need of heavy revision), then it's possible Crocky, the deer, and the elephant (who are all marked with the triangle) were reworked into Totodile, Stantler, and Donphan, and saw use as actual pokemon in Gen 2.
