I know you might think that an understanding of how domains work is 'niche knowledge' and therefore excuses you for not knowing, but the reality is that it doesn't. Everything must be scrutinized and verified for factual information, that is what intelligence is - separating fact from fiction in order to build a conclusion. Knowing the graphic design principles behind Japanese Pokemon games' logos is a lot more niche than knowing how domains work, but it's up to the reader to look at the available information and grasp that understanding. Your thought process needs to be like this:
-News sites are saying a domain has been registered by Nintendo
-Is that true?
-How does one determine whether or not the domain has actually been registered by Nintendo?
Etc. The same applies to the logos; you have to look at them and scrutinize, compare them with previous logos, work out what's different and what the likelihood of them being real based on that information is.
It's fine to not know things about domains and logos, you just have to accept that if you don't know something you can't make an assumption on it - Ultimately none of us have any context for that logo, is it the official one or is it a mock-up that the 'leaker' has seen and recreated? None of us know; we also don't know what the guidelines are for Japanese Pokemon logos - so we have to accept that we can't make a complete judgement on that - but we do know that the Japanese logo used is the anime logo and that is unprecedented and suspicious.
This is what actually being intelligent is. I'm sure if the leaks turn out to be real, people will say shit like "HURR DENIALFAGS WERE RETARDS" but the simple fact is that all of reasons not to believe these leaks are built on educated, logical conclusions and so not believing or expressing doubt on the leaks is the smart thing to do.
