It's impossible. There will always be a workaround to anything GF throws at you: near-unlimited items, Z-asspulls, mega stones, stalling moves, etc.
There's so much variety in pokémon types, abilities, moves, items that it's impossible to cover all the holes.

It's fine on its own, it's way easier than your average EO or SMT boss. Problem is that the rest of the game doesn't ask anything of you so it becomes a big problem in the difficulty curve.
Solution is making more bosses like it actually.

Seriously, I just used my in-game team and fucked this thing up. I did have exp share on, but I also swapped pokes in and out of my team over the course of the game. Never evolved my Litten. I had a Magnezone which I think was a big help with t-wave and it's resistances. I had at at least 3 pokes left at the end. I think I dented it severely with Litten's Inferno Overdrive.

tldr; I fucked this bitch up and barely remember the fight

That's the whole point; the game IS balanced. no one pokemon can be a "boss" fight in the traditional JRPG sense, because for the most part all pokemon are about equal.

I did, it was a monotype bug run. I started with forretress who survives no matter what with sturdy, I had it use light screen. Then I switchet in Golisopod who first impressioned and was barely able to survive thanks to light screen. For some reason I think EE doesn't proc in this battle so I just used ribombee as death fodder to get vikavolt in safely. Along with light screen and charti berry, vikavolt was able to get a bug buzz off. Then Finally Golisopod finished it off with another first impression. Was significantly under leveled apparently, I barely beat it even with those 3 powerful stab SE moves

I love fossilmons, Bastiodon is just among my least favorites for them, and the really round tusks look silly despite the nice castle motif. Gen 4's fossils overall didn't do much for me compared to 1 or 3's.
