Dunno, but I do think it's poorly designed.
Look at Chesnaught, with that oversized shell that looks more like a poncho than armor.

the only thing thats off about the line is the color-change but that can easily explained by the fact that chesnaught represents a chesnut turned inside out. arguable if that design choise paid off
