Yes, you can fuse Pokémon and trainer, but only to watch the result , you cannot use it in battle.

The game was created with the whole concept of that in the beginning, but it was considered as complex, so you COULD do that if there wasn't for the cutscenes added . Circa 5 hours per town but because there is only one town, you get the rest.
