A lot of people have been blaming Nintendo for Pokemon Let's Go, and I want to clarify something here.

How Nintendo treats its major franchises:
>Zelda - Completely overhaul the franchise and mechanics, listening to fans clamoring for an open world game while also staying to the series core game design
>Mario - Go back to the style of game fans have been wanting for years, while expanding on it with fun new mechanics.

Now let's take a look at how Game Freak treats the second biggest game franchise of all time:

>Strip down 7/8 of the roster fans have grown to love
>Integrate the game with features from a mediocre mobile game to attract normies when they only got GO because it was free and a fad, thinking they'd pay $60 for a real game
>Go back to Kanto the upteenth time just to remake it instead of providing a new take or sequel like BW2, instead of making a new generation or revisiting Sinnoh, considering those who grew up with Gen IV are grown adults now and the games are over 10 years old.

Nintendo nowadays, between Zelda, Mario, and Smash Bros, is constantly trying to please its fans while delivering a full fat package. Smash Bros is an interesting case in particular, because Sakurai nearly died and ruined his hands working non-stop just to please his fanbase. On the other hand, Game Freak thinks its okay to rush out a sequel or take away content, all the while refusing to listen to its core audience.
