Until late Gen 6 I had a decent amount of hope they'd eventually make the games they were capable of,because a lot of the issues were hardware related but as of late Gen 7 on the 3DS which did not have those limitations and should have seen everything return by now I have almost none. Not just because of the games (though they help) but because of the bullshit statements they make in interviews and the like.
If they go any lower than Gen 4 in content with the next game without a promise to bring back the rest of it too by the end of Gen 8, then I'm not buying it again, it's that simple.
Maybe you have zero willpower or standards and will eat any shit shoved in front of you which you're implying is also true of us, but my obsession with them and knowing what they can be will ultimately keep me from doing that.
I care too much to see them in ruin.
There's a reason at one time I spent 5 years inside because I couldn't stand the state of the world. I eventually came around to overcome it mostly but watching how just destroy each other was something I had to come to terms with as the other option was to kill myself and I haven't yet found the full courage to do it (mostly because with my luck I'd end up just fucking myself up and wake up in a state where I'd be unable to finish the job, forced to live in that state forever).
This is the same logic, only unlike life, nothing is stopping me from leaving new Pokémon games.
Maybe you are, but I am not at all afraid to pretend they're no longer making it and just play the games that exist now if they fuck this next one up.
