Ash doesn't come close. He doesn't put in the same level of commitment that Alain does. His Pokemon aside from Pikachu and Greninja were weak. Hawlucha barely won over Weavile because of a 4x type advantage. His Talonflame tied with an Unfezant. Pikachu and Greninja delivered on this entire battle. And Greninja wasn't shown to ever be at E4 level.
