But as you said in the gameplay aspect they made quite a few mistakes here and there, such as the new exp share that can be mixed with the bonus from amie
which should be removed, just the bonus not the actual thing, the low amount of pokemon on trainers, and just those unnecessary battles against your ''friends'', which were there just to waste time.
Thankfully there are mods to make the game actually fun to play.
