>>35646768They are middle of the road.
The main changes I liked are the graphics overhaul and the fact that trainers don’t pack as many pokemon as before (maybe 1-3).
I don’t really like gym leaders not having that many pokemon and their rematches are pretty disappointing as well.
Amie is probably my favorite new thing after trainer cust. However, i feel like they went way overboard giving it an exp boost. Exp share could have come much later too.
I love the new pokemon and I also love the concept of mega evolution as well. My favorite new Pokemon are Chesnaught, Aegislash, Meowstic and Helioptile. I do hate that they haven’t even bothered to introduce megas for at the very least, all the starters.
The rivals sucked, the battle facility at the end sucks really hard in presentation but is fine otherwise. No co-op mode in said facility also really fucking sucks. No postgame at all also really sucks but I do like the extra story with looker.
For a game that loved to shove its cinematics in your face, the story/plot was kinda shitty. It had a lot of great concepts but extremely poorly executed. The only one of your rivals that got any real development was Trevor and I was disappointed at how incredibly minor it was. It would have been nice if we got a lot more double battles where you team up with those characters to make them feel like they were being useful. Also more battles against them overall, at least in something they want to compete with you against at (such as Trevor actually checking how much pokemon u’ve caught at certain points as a competition and giving you a good reward for it if you reached the milestone, something actually fucking worthwhile with Tierno like having him be a second rival or something, Shanna was fine as she was)
Overall I’d put it middle of the road
