Also its not the first time something like this happens. For example, Brendan/May in RS, if you think Sceptile fits Brendan the most, then picking Blaziken as a May gives Brendan Swampert. If you think Swampert fits him more then you’re good but that also implies giving May Sceptile if you play as Brendan. Stuff like this happens in every gen and seems to be mostly catered towards the male trainer and not the female one. The absolute worst case I’ve seen is probably SM where giving Kuikui Incineroar is impossible without picking Decidueye which gives Hau Primarina.
