If you want a challenge breed a team in USUM and go online. There's no challenge in story mode.

Play through the game normally but after you beat a trial or an island, Wonder Trade your whole team and use the Pokémon you receive to beat the next trial or island and so on.

no, but a friend of mine tried it, and it was very hard. But you could do a monotype on every gen, and you could easily make a team before playing

Playing OR/AS not spending money, selling all items I find, trying to complete dex along the way, using only berries as healing items. Put on set mode. It's actually a bit more challenging and interesting. Even small changes like these can make a difference.

Did this in Alpha Sapphire with Beautifly, Seaking, Bellossom, Cacturne, Magcargo and Xatu, made me appreciate the shitmons so much (especially Seaking, pic fucking related).
