>>35668304Depends on the context on every game/generation and if you are considering competitive play.
In a normal playthrough of RB, they are honestly mostly the same past the first two or three gyms, maybe Charizard has a slight edge in terms of sheer damage output so you have a better chance at knocking out most opponents that don't resist you, though fire type itself is pretty bad outside of the hordes of Grass and Bug types in early and mid game, and you have to survive the encounter with Brock. In the end him, Squirtle and Bulbasaur can all be replaced easily (specially Squirtle with the overabundance of Water types, and the fact that Starmie exists and it's godly) and have no particular edge over other pokemon you can catch.
In competitive RB play none of them was particularly good, Venusaur had a small edge for being the best of all the pokemon of its typing, though the overall best Grass type was Exeggcutor. Charizard was unusable alongside all other fire types due to the overabundance of Rock types and Blastoise was mediocre and just outclassed by Starmie, Lapras, Slowbro, etc.
In modern competitive play, if we consider Mega Evolutions Charizard and Venusaur are kings and Blastoise is ok.
For base forms only, Blastoise and Venusaur are bad-ish and Charizard is straight up shitty.
