So your argument is that we have heard nothing, where as before any other game reveal we hear nothing up until the reveal. It took up until the 6th of June for the USUM reveal.

Rewatch last year's E3 presentation.
They said "we'll be focusing on games releasing this year" and literally 30 seconds later announced Metroid Prime 4.

Believe what you want, I'm skeptical of both sides of the argument. My only reason for 2018 is that it would be a poor marketing decision to leave the rest of the year without any new merchandise from new games. Also the Sun and Moon anime can't last forever.

Early 2019 wouldn't be too bad, but late 2019 would be to detrimental to TPC.

USUM is hardly a good comparison.
They need to introduce us to a whole new region, new pokemon, new characters.
They need to finish up marketing USUM, Zeraora, the Alola anime, and the new movie. There is no sign that it's coming to an end.

Good points, but for any Pokemon Game we didn't hear any news about the game, until it was announced. Not just USUM. That argument is pretty terrible

But I agree with your other points, Zeraora and Movie merchandise will probably last up until the end of this year. And the same for the anime, unless the just do a bunch of filler episodes to bide for time. Which I honestly couldn't see happening.

People are dumb. They're hyping themselves up over fake leaks, and will blame nintendo/game freak when they're wrong. I don't have any sympathy for them.

If it's releasing March-ish 2019, there's quite a bit they could show. X&Y and SM's first trailers were about 9 months before release.

I know this "trend" doesn't go all the way back, and i know this sort of guesswork is sketchy at best, but if they -do- stick to a trend like this, we should expect one more installment this year, and nothing for 2019
