> Poor performancesThat's not really PR fault as far as I can see. Essentials is quite a mess, and going for added scripts and features messes it up badly. We're trying to keep menus and the very screen as minimal as possible. Even this way, some adjustements to the engine are to be made.
> There is a journal feature on Garnet, somehow like FRLG.This menù item helps you keep track of the areas (both main and secret) you've explored and found, the characters you've met, the mysteryes you're searching on and the side-quests you completed. It's some sort of Adventuredex, where the Pokédex instead traditionally keeps track of the creatures you find.
This is actually necessary to help the players fix their discoveries in a linear way, so they can easily check their lore and progress and eventually get the whole picture, if they want to. The main scenario is also noted here, but I think I won't be offering any on-screen indication or marker for that. I'm still thinking about this feature, so we'll see. By the way, Garnet as well has its jrpg traits this way. I'm just trying to think them as light as possible.
> Garnet doesn't use anymore official assets, we are just going for everything being fan-made. We do not have official pokémon for the same reason.> The tokenization is quite debatable in every form. I think I'll have to check the game before valuing this criticism, as I do not precisely know how those characters and events are portrayed in PR.That said, 4chan and the web tend to be quite hectic regarding these topics. I'm all in for LGBTQ+ rights irl, but I think that a correct, modern and free rapresentation in media, art, entertainment, and performing arts (I actually come from cinema studies rather than game development) is such a complicated and delicate matter that real attention is needed in order to avoid every form of pandering, conditioning or cliché-enforcing for every sexual orientation and identity.
