Gen 6 and 7 should've built upon the engine that Gen 5 introduced, and you can't convince me otherwise. There would undeniably have been

>more post-game
>a better gen 3 remake
Game Freak just can't into 3d, even to this very day. Look at how optimized SM and USUM are, even on the new 3ds. It's pathetic.
Unless Game Freak got help for the switch titles, there's literally no reason to NOT expect a disaster.
