It didn't fail. They had no way to have it look good in 3D and now Switch has just a single screen.

It sold millions and was genuinely fun.

It's not an option because you can only sent one Manaphy per cartridge even if the mission download was still up.

I don't think transitioning to bland and generic 3D models (instead of keeping the charming 2d sprites) is required to in order to develop a game on the 3DS

You know they would have if they were able to though. As great as sprites are, they seem to LOVE taking that charm away and replacing it with boring models. Look at PMD.

It was my first DS game. It managed to fuck my touch screen in the first month. When DP arrived, my bottom screen was already trash and I couldn't even dress my pokémon with accuracy in contests.
