most interesting Pokémon ever created and here's why
>Human shape classification sets her at a midpoint between human and Pokémon
>Dex entries mentions her cry sounding like garbled human speech; Dex notes that it is the subject of much scientific interest
>Human like hair as opposed to body fur
>Human style clothing to complete the impression
>Wide eyes, large mouth and developed hands mirror the most expressive aspects of human to human communication
>Noted for swaying movements of the hips as it walks; another example of exaggerated human behavior
Jynx's closest real world counterpart would be the highly intelligent, tool using primates, who share common ancestors with humans; though Jynx expands upon this. She's half Pokémon, half human hybrid that exhibits traits and behaviours of both without fitting neatly into either box. Imo Jynx is the closest we have to a potential common human/Pokémon ancestor.
So she gets to have hair; she has a reason to have it and the means to maintain its appearance unlike Primarina. She gets to wear clothes; they serve a purpose and fit with everything we know about the species behaviour unlike machamps speedo or throw/sawks fucking Gi. Most importantly, she gets to look weird and awkward; she is supposed to.
She's not a bipedal karate dog, a seal with permantly styled hair or an owl with glasses; she is beautiful mishmash of human and Pokémon characteristics, that perfectly fit her classification. With perhaps the exception of her redesigned arms, everything about her design serves a purpose. She is not a rebuttal to arbitrary human traits being present in other Pokémons design's because Jynx has more right to look how she does than any of her contemporaries.
Chat shit about the rest of Gen 1 but please leave the Jynx fandom me in peace.
