cultivate your fanbase is what keeps long-live franchise alive, even with reboots you have to be faithful to the source material (if you want an example look at godzilla 98)
and gamefreak never do something like this, expecially in recent years, showing a completley lack of understanding of what the long-term fan like and want
focucing only on more kid-friendly gimmick, appearence, story,...
I'm not saying that GF will bankrupt, but they're currently very far away from what pokèmon was, and it shows in this thread, we care more about this old lost beta data than to the newest switch game, that we deeply fear that will be a big pile of shit
at least in my opinion
