I think the title screen is an incredibly interesting thing. I'm not sure if it proves or disproves the validity, but I lean towards proves. Simply due to the fact that if you making a fake leak, why on Earth would you purposefully change something that we already know and is readily available? Especially considering both of the beta title screens we know are extremely simple and easier to make than this one, since one is just Ho-oh's sprite and the other is the final one slightly edited?

Of course this could also be Ho-oh doing an animation on the title or something, it's hard to tell.

This, combined with those recently revealed cut Gen 1 Pokemon, and damn it feels good to be a classic Pokemon fag recently. This is exciting stuff getting revealed, and I look forward to the beta rom. I wonder what the Pokemon will be, we know Pokemon like Girafarig and Hoppip look mildly different, but what else will we find? I'm sure we'll see some of the rumored cut Gen 2 Pokemon we only heard seocnd hand accounds of, but hopefully we'll see some really juicy stuff, like Pokemon no one was supposed to see. Like Pokemon they didn't tease and changed radically or completely cut during production. That prospect excites me.

according to the last thread its possible some of these units might have leaked on the 2nd hand market as well, it has to be custom because the super game boy wont normally work with gbc exclusives, note how the frame still says Pokémon gold even though its crystal version, this might be custom by gf

no, apprently a number of rare pieces of dev hardware and prototypes of games leaked from Japan from Nintendo and other manufacturers through a recently deceased japanese collector, a store in japan got the part of his collection that included the prototypes and they apparently shipped them to some hackers in the us to dump/archive them on the condition they sent them back to Japan afterwards, so that they would at least be catalogged if Nintendo tries to claim ownwrship and demand return once the full collection goes up for auction

there was a post about it on the old thread detailing the circumstances of the leak but my tram stops coming up and i dont have time to dig it up

I believe that this other title screen (and border) is what the press were given. The demo has this other border and title screen. As for why, couldn't tell you, but I can say with all confidence that my leak is the real thing.

The frame is for Gold because that's likely what the internal distribution rom was built off of. The way we theorize these things work from multiple images is this: a Super Nintendo/Famicom containing a Super GameBoy 2(link cable support, which contains the custom distribution cart. This is what is displayed on screen. This setup is connected by link cable to a GBC/GBP (the slot you stick your personal game in. A simple button press of the famicom controller tells the distribution rom to send to the inserted cart. The video is basically a one-way trade animation of Mew/Celebi.

Yes it's possible these internal distribution carts/roms still exist, especially if this leaked Pokemon 2 beta is legit.

I don't know how many times now I've said that I don't have the ROM, never did. I just came upon the pictures by coincidence.

I'll stop posting now, but if anyone important is reading, I'm sorry for letting this get spread so much. I didn't realize how much harm this could do until people started telling me about how this could jeopardize the release. So, yeah, sorry that I'm an asshole who leaks shit that should've stayed in the vault until it was deemed ready.

And one final thing, I AM ONE HUNDRED PERCENT CERTAIN THAT THIS IS REAL. So, by all means, get excited. I certainly am. I can't fucking wait to give it a look.

1. Other Nintendo prototypes have been released, most notably Earthbound 0 and Starfox 2. They've been out for years. It's hard to do anything with this kind of thing. Plus, what can Nintendo do? You haven't uploaded it yet, you just have it in your possession.

Secondly, let's say Nintendo did want to do something. Who knows what, but something. Who are they going to contact? There's only the one speedrunner guy who we've seen say anything, and even he hasn't said specifically what or what anything, he could easily shrug it off and tell them they have the wrong guy.

Thirdly, these threads will die after 2 or 3 days, and I can guarantee you Nintendo does not give a shit about /vp/.

the only reason to be paranoid is if theres some crazy shit we dont know about like if this prototype/demo cart was stolen or "borrowed" from a gamefreak storage archive for old media and provided directly to the people involved in the archiving/dumping/translation project

Lol, the few leaked GBA distribution carts were stolen too. Technically the DS ones too, but those were mass produced and stolen from GameStops. The GBA stuff is very minimal and comes straight from Nintendo employees

Hopefully with this we can rest a little easier. As long as the team aren't some hyper moralfags who are strictly controlling who gets the rom and how they use it and would shut down everything if they even thought Nintendo looked at them, it should be fine.

Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if the rom leaked before the translation. All we can do is wait I suppose.

Could they have used this unused mon from gen 1 again for the initial Ledian and then updated it? The fan sketch we have of Ledyba emphasises the punching aspect more than the final version.

QA here, this means GSC were made directly on RGB/Y, they took the game, got some people to work on the new map, someone on musics, and another team to work on sprites. Then comes the Storyline and as it all progressed they got a compression method.

They created GSC DIRECTLY on older games, swapping one thing at a time.

Regarding the cut gen 1 pokemon, why do we have such shit quality images of the sprites?

Aren't they from a manga about Taijiri? Why hasn't anybody just bought the manga volume and scanned that one page at a ridiculously high resolution? Is the actual volume ittself not on sale yet?
